How a company handles itself during the process of downsizing, reorganization or M & A’s involves a greater impact to more than just the employees being let go. Having a media plan that clearly outlines all procedures for Staff to direct any inquires from the press or media to for quick and informative responses. The media is a company’s best friend during difficult times. If not handled correctly and the media is left on its own to create the story many times the company is not accurately represented and a dark cloud can be cast over the way the company is handling its business.
